Ignorance they say is a major disease and the only cure is knowledge. Ignorance is a virus and the only effective antivirus to deal with it is not prayer or fasting but knowledge. You shall know the truth and the truth that you know will set you free (John 8:32). The unfortunate thing is that what you dont know God cant help you out of it. You have to seek and ask with all diligence.
This virus or deceit of GENERATIONAL CURSES has eaten too deep into the body of JESUS CHRIST, and has left many people confused, live in fear and beginning to wonder when their afflictions will end since they are traceable to one relative that died only God knows how many years ago. Lets unmask this deception and flush it out of the body of Christ.
It all started from Exodus 20: 1"And God spake all these words, saying, :2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. :3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. :4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: :5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; :6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
From the above scriptures, yes it was true that God said he will visit the iniquities of the fathers on the children but verse 6 also said he will show mercy to them that love him. What if my fathers of old love the lord. How come no one refers to that. Anyway, that is not the issue now, lets get down to the main thing.
The Lord who said he will visit the sins of the fathers on the children also canceled, destroyed this and said it must never be spoken or heard of again. Now Jeremiah Jer 31:29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. Jer 31:30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. This is very simple. God said "In those days" which I believe is our days, I ll prove that later, it must NOT be said again that children will suffer for the sins of their fathers. Another version says "No longer will anyone go around saying, "Sour grapes eaten by parents leave a sour taste in the mouths of their children." When that day comes, only those who eat sour grapes will get the sour taste, and only those who sin will be put to death."
Again in Ezekiel 18:1 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, :2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? :3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. :4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. The same God who said HE will visit the sins of the fathers on children in Exodus repeatedly now said we MUST NEVER use that language again and that henceforth it is the soul that sins that shall die. If the one who said it before now say it must not be so again, then why go up and down talk about it and still leaving in that fear.
Let us go to New testament. Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? :4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. The bible says we are dead and buried with Christ in water baptism. Since this is true, whatever has been following us from our fathers died and is buried with him and that he rose from the dead we also rose up with him in newness of life coming out of that baptism. So if the past is dead how come the shadow is still hunting people. Have you ever seen the shadow of a dead person walking. May be you have I haven't and dont want to see it. Be conscious of newness of life.
Again in 2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: :15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. :16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. :17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. :18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; In verse 16, its clearly stated that we know no man after the flesh, Why? When you were born to this world you were born of the flesh, you know people after the flesh but when you got born again you were born after the spirit. Jesus said that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Since you are born of the spirit (salvation) you henceforth do not know any one after the flesh especially your fathers. This is the reason why he now said "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature....." You are a new creature with no trace to anyone in your past.
How about this! Trace your problems to your fathers, or relations, go to village ask questions, history of your family, cousins, nephews, aunties, brothers etc that were born of you. This is strong deception and to be avoided. The bible say in 1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; :2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. :3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, :4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. Verse 4 clearly states that genealogies are strange doctrines to be avoided. Tracing issues to genes or family tree is not of God, its of the flesh not of the spirit. When you got saved you possess only the gene of Jesus Christ and renewable by taking holy communion. Tracing family history does not and has never minister faith but arguments and fears. STOP IT. Look at the Good News Bible translation: "I want you to stay in Ephesus, just as I urged you when I was on my way to Macedonia. Some people there are teaching false doctrines, and you must order them to stop. Tell them to give up those legends and those long lists of ancestors, which only produce arguments; they do not serve God's plan, which is known by faith. The purpose of this order is to arouse the love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a genuine faith. To confirm this again, you can read Titus 3:8-9
In our days, Jesus in John 19 took the sour grapes which is the same thing as vinegar and never left any for us his children to drink. That was why he said IT IS FINISHED. He took all the sins of the father and the bitterness of sin's consequences and gave us liberty. How can you now say you want to undo what Christ has finished. This is another gospel and were told to avoid it.
In John 9, they asked Jesus who sinned that the man should be born blind (generational curses)? Jesus answered NOBODY. Wow!!!!
Child of the most high God, YOU ARE FREE. You do not suffer for anybody's sin. Be free in Jesus name. If you notice any bad behavior in your life, go to the Lord in prayer, by the Holy Ghost you ll overcome it (Romans 8) and DISCIPLINE yourself.
